Marcel MINKA: Focal Point of YILAA, finalist of the 2022 World Food Forum (WFF)

Mr. Marcel Loyd MINKA is one of the eight finalist of the 2022 World Food Forum (WFF) Transformative Research Challenge (TRC) organized by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO). Mr. MINKA was selected as Finalist under the category Better environment and the title of his research project is “Using data-driven agricultural investigations to develop a socio-spatial approach for crop farming expansion through the ownership of vacant agricultural lands”. At the global Level, Mr. MINKA is a consultant in Agrifood Systems and Land Tenure Security for some International Organizations, like the NRMC Center for Land Governance in India. At the regional level, he is the Country Representative Officer of YILAA in Cameroon. Youth Initiative for Land in Africa (YILAA) is an African Regional Organization which has many representation Offices in many African countries. At the national level, Mr. MINKA is an active member to many youth-led associations and research groups in Cameroon, like the Cameroon National Land Coalition. Over the past years, Mr. MINKA has been awarded many scholarships amongst which we have the 2021 NELGA scholarship to pursue a short course on the Political Economy of Land Governance at the Institute of Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS) at the University of Western Cape in South Africa. Then on May 2022, Mr. MINKA received a scholarship from the Columbia Center for Sustainability Investment to pursue an Online Executive Training Program on Sustainability Investment in Agriculture at Columbia University in New York. Mr. MINKA is married to a beautiful woman called Paola KOUM DISSAKE.
